Recycling IMPAXX™ Material

In providing the safest and most reliable energy management and impact solutions for the automotive industry, we make sure that any scrap materials from our manufacturing process are recycled in an environmentally sound manner.

The vast majority of our energy and acoustic management products utilize IMPAXX™, a highly-engineered extruded polystyrene (XPS). XPSs are versatile plastics, which can be recycled for a number of different applications including construction, crafts and model building.

  1. Material suppliers manufacture IMPAXX™ foam for Coastal Automotive.
  2. We use IMPAXX™ to manufacture energy management solutions for the automotive industry.
  3. 100% of unusable foam or scrap from our manufacturing process is collected and shipped to our recycling partners. None of our scrap is sent to a landfill.
  4. Our recycling partners use the recycled material to make other polystyrene-based products. One of the largest uses of our recycled material is in the manufacturing of insulation boards for construction.
