Coastal Automotive hosts MEMA and US Representative Elissa Slotkin

Coastal Automotive welcomed US Representative Elissa Slotkin, the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) and other automotive manufacturers to its Rochester Hills-based headquarters on October 8. The visit was coordinated as a part of the Supplier Advocacy Network (SAN) program developed by MEMA.

The program aims to educate members of Congress on motor vehicle parts suppliers and the issues that directly impact industry leaders. SAN encourages and assists local manufacturers from 12 states in welcoming local representatives to their facilities for roundtable discussions and facility tours.

“We are proud to host another SAN visit and welcome US Representative Elissa Slotkin and other industry leaders to our Rochester Hills facility,” said Mark McConnell, Vice President of Finance for Coastal Automotive. “The policies made at the federal level directly impact our company and many other companies in West Michigan and across the globe. The SAN program ensures automotive manufacturers keep a strong industry voice in Washington, D.C.”

Catherine Boland, of the Washington, D.C. OESA office, and other local business representatives attended the event, participating in the roundtable discussions centered around the passage of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

This is the second visit Coastal Automotive has coordinated this year as a part of the SAN program. Coastal Automotive also welcomed US Representative Fred Upton and State Representative Mary Whiteford in August to its Holland location.
