Purpose of the Job

To provide knowledge and direction of the process to the operators, root cause process failures to prevent potential process failure.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Problem Identification: First response to downtime or machine failures. Troubleshoots failures and suggests solutions or process improvements to the team.   Identify process failures, troubleshoot, support production where failures are present.

Safety: Understands safety requirements for each machine and informs the team if a machine is out of tolerance or at-risk. Demonstrates safe behavior and uses proper PPE when operating on or troubleshooting a machine.

Work Standards: Works with team members to update Operator Work Standards to support the necessary process improvements.

Data Log: Maintains a production log of the work that has been done on equipment. Measures and records data associated with equipment. Recognizes trends and repetition of problems.

Computer: Holds a basic understanding of Microsoft applications and email. Familiar with Plex ERP and is trained to order parts through the Purchase Order system.

Drawings: Able to interpret machine blueprints, mechanical drawings and schematic diagrams.

Facility: Supports maintenance technicians with facility upkeep as necessary. Assists with complex repairs and building improvements.

Engineering Team Member: Participates as a member of the Engineering Team. Attends team huddles, communicates effectively with other team members, and supports team initiatives.

Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Education Requirements Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
Some vocational training preferred.
Industry Experience: Served in a technical role in manufacturing environment for 1-2 years.

Experience repairing equipment with mechanical and electrical systems.

Essential Competencies
·       Physical Requirements: Ability to work in potentially prolonged physical exertion ie. standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas

·       Reading Skills: Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety procedures, and operation procedures.

·       Mechanical/Electrical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts and able to safely troubleshoot as necessary.

·       Skilled with basic hand and power tools including drills, saws, taps, etc.

·       Solid understanding of personal computers and business software.
