Purpose of the job
Provide leadership to the design, implementation and maintenance of highly capable manufacturing systems and processes. Align priorities with the strategy and operational needs of the business. Develop a talented team of engineers skilled in Manufacturing Engineering, Equipment Design, Automation, and Lean Sigma.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Provide leadership to process engineers: Align priorities, provide regular performance feedback, establish individual development plans, and support ongoing professional development.
Advanced Process Development: Work closely with product engineering and operations to design, validate, install and maintain highly capable manufacturing processes.
Value Engineering and Process Improvement: Continuously improve manufacturing operations with cost-effective equipment, conveyance, inspections, and processing enhancements.
Equipment Reliability: Partners with Operations leaders and suppliers to standardize and improve equipment, spare parts, predictive maintenance and quick changeover capabilities.
OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness): Partners with operations to drive improvements in OEE, striving for 100% Quality (only Good Parts), 100% Performance (as fast as possible), and 100% Availability (no Stop Time).
Supports program management: Works with program management to support efficient and effective launches of new products and new programs.
Equipment and Maintenance Suppliers: Establishes productive relationships with equipment and maintenance suppliers. Negotiates agreements that ensure competitive costs and performance while protecting our intellectual property.
