Provide leadership according to company standard for the IMPAXX Product engineering team; Conduct meetings to ensure timely and meaningful communication across the function; Establish and deploy focused plans aligned with the strategic thrusts and operational priorities in the 1PP; Establish standards for the application of solid engineering principles to ensure products meet customer requirements and can be manufactured effectively and efficiently; Develop a robust product design capability by attracting and developing talented people, applying best practices and cultivating robust standards; Build relationships with technical thought leaders in the industry and with key customers; Develop internal testing capabilities to support application engineering services and deepen expertise in energy management applications and material evaluation; Develop and maintain an efficient and effective process for managing the requirements of all new programs regardless of complexity; and Develop the disciplines for conducting effective secondary research and a deep understanding of the regulatory environment including relevant specifications and design challenges.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or closely related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Engineer, Engineering Supervisor or closely related occupation in the Automotive Industry. Also requires 5 years of experience with CAE; energy management productions; integrating new products into an organization; IATF 16949 standards; and regulatory environments. Approximately 10% travel is required to various unanticipated locations. Pre-employment processing includes drug testing. Located at Coastal Automotive LLC, in Rochester, MI.
