Purpose of the job
To ensure final products conform to specifications and to improve the quality process through in-depth problem solving and troubleshooting.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Visual Inspection: Examines materials and finished goods to confirm they meet specifications and the surface is free of defects.
Conduct tests: Uses various measuring and diagnostic equipment such as check fixtures, micrometers and calipers to validate density, dimensions, product design etc.
Record keeping: Compares test results to specifications and records findings. All non-conformances are rejected and reported to the Quality Lead.
Analysis: Analyzes non-conformances to troubleshoot the process, identify contributing factors, and suggest corrective actions.
Job Instruction: Teaches Associates proper inspection methods in regards to sorting product
Auditing: Uses various audits to monitor quality processes throughout the plant and improve the quality of product produced (ie. Layered Process Audits)
Plex: Splits and merges labels, records scrap, manages quality inventory, traces and contains any bad product within the system and within the Company
Team: Participates as a member of the Operations Team, attends pre-shift huddles, effectively communicates quality issues and corrective actions for internal and external quality alerts
