Thriving Automotive Manufacturer Expands Production into West Michigan
Coastal Automotive opens new facility in Holland, Michigan, as first step of four-year global expansion initiative.
Coastal Automotive, an automotive manufacturer from Southeast Michigan, is expanding production into Holland. Coastal secured the 300,000 square-foot production space at 900 Brooks Ave. The Holland facility is expected to begin operations next month and plans to create 150 new jobs over the next three years.
Coastal Automotive is a forward-looking automotive supplier whose continued growth in the automotive industry has created the demand for expanded production. The company manufactures several innovative products, including an industry-leading energy management solution, IMPAXX™. The technology is used globally in passenger and commercial vehicles, as well as by NASCAR and the aerospace industry.
“Expanding production into Holland was a natural fit for us,” said Paul Doyle. “The Holland area has significant expertise in manufacturing and the auto industry, and the area has a very talented workforce.” Coastal Container, a sister company to Coastal Automotive, is also based in Holland.
Coastal Automotive’s expansion into West Michigan is the first step in a strategic, four-year global expansion initiative, in which the company plans production growth into Mexico, China, and Europe. Coastal’s global production will allow them to provide lightweight, passive safety devices to more drivers and passengers around the world.
“The West Michigan expansion is a great complement to our successful operations in Rochester Hills and we see the two locations working together as the foundation of our plan for global growth,” Doyle said.
